However, with gliders playing an important part of story itself, there are various terminologies about aircraft and flight itself, and there are some one can consider an info-dump. Though, a certain teacher's intentions are never mentioned, and this question mark remains irritably unanswered in the story. I shall emphasise this again: This is no a full-blown drama. The chibi comedies are funny and cute, and does portray the 'lighter' side of this sotry itself. There are various comedic scenes in them, and I feel its mainly to grab hold of the audiences' attention, that doesn't mean it is bad though. Kotori is easily the most complex and interesting character in this Visual Novel itself. The psychological conflict of Kotori itself is something very, very well executed, with her sufferings well developed and her dilemma well done. The process of accepting losses and chasing a new dream, to soar above the clouds, and dealing with the burdens of emotional and physical is very well written in the storyline, and is central to the entire plot itself. The story revolves itself around the idea of loss and dreams, with both our protagonists having loss something very dear to them, and causing them to abandon their hopes. That day, the two saw a glider soaring in the skys awe, and that became a turning point in their lives as, along with Aoi's childhood friend Ageha and a eccentric senior Amane, they sought to revive the Soaring Club, and reach the skies. He meet up with a wheelchair-bound girl the day he returns, and helped her fix her flat tire.
The story initially revolves around our protagonist and our main Point of View, Aoi Minase, a boy just returning back to his hometown after an accident that cause him to give up on his dreams. If I were compare it to any anime I can think of at the moment I would describe the overall feeling of If My Heart Had Wings to be a 'Golden Time done Right".
It does not have the complexity of White Album 2 or Oregairu, but it is heartening and dramatic and comedic. I would describe this as a typical light romance, and how a romance story should be. The music does convey the whole idea of 'soaring' and rivals the best works of Sawano Hiroyuki and Sakimoto Hitoshi, both which use similar type of music. While playing the soundtrack over and over again playing through 21 hours of the VN, I've never found myself tired of it, and in fact wanted to buy the soundtrack in the midst of playing the game itself ( That costs SGD$5.50, without the sales discount of course). However, the use of 3D images somethimes (1-2 scenes) are very ugly, but small mistakes like this can be easily looked over. In fact, I would say that it is pleasing, giving off plain and simple feel to the VN itself. Do no expect much of good animation or good background, but I won't say that the graphics itself is entirely bad. The graphics I would say is very similar to those of a Nintendo 2DS images and animation and characters that look like it came from a 2012 romcom. Also the starting might be a tad slow, be patient, it lifts off pretty quickly. However, the BGM and pictures should be able to stop you from being put off by the menu itself. For that I have to say the main menu of this game looks rather old, something I would expect around 5-6 years ago. Do keep in mind thought that the mistranslations and mistakes do not affect the story greatly.įirst impressions matter in any entertainment material. Also the MoeNovel translations are okay initially, but through the latter half of the novel it becomes rather sloppy and requires adequate English to be able to understand the poorly translated texts. Contrary, the addition of these H-scenes might have made the story itself very weird. However, I guarantee you that this does not affect the game in any way. IMHHW on steam is an edited one, with many of the eroge scenes taken away. For the review I am writing after completing the route of Kotori Habane, which took 21 hours. This is the first Visual novel I've ever played so I came in not knowing what to expect. I got hold of this seeing the steam offer, so I'd thought I'll would try a visual novel out. Kono Ōzora ni, Tsubasa o Hirogete, more well known as 'If My Heart Had Wings', is a visual novel available on Steam.
